2025 Women’s Bracket Picks Writeup
Welcome to the first year of our new Women’s Basketball Brackets product.
Even though this is the first year for customized Women’s brackets, we know many of you are returning subscribers who have used many of our other products. If that is the case, it’s great to have you back with us again in 2025, and we appreciate your loyalty.
This site would not exist without the ongoing (and growing!) support of a subscriber base that understands the boom-or-bust nature of playing in bracket pools, trusts data-driven analysis, and takes a longer-term view. Thanks to all of you for your continued support.
If you’re coming to us new this year, we’re happy you’re joining us, and we appreciate that you spent some of your hard-earned cash geeking out with us on 2025 Women’s NCAA Tournament brackets.
(Especially if you’re new, check out our expectations section at the bottom of this article when you have a minute. It gives a big-picture view of the inherent risks of bracket pools and our long-term performance.)
This is our Official Bracket Writeup for 2025, where we will add content after Selection Sunday, from a bracket strategy analysis to explanations of recommended picks to other important updates.
Here’s what you can expect and what has already been published. (After we publish a new section, we will activate the link in the table of contents below.)

1. About This Writeup
The purpose of this writeup is two-fold:
1) Share data-driven insights on the 2025 NCAA Women’s Tournament
We have spent a lot of preparation time ahead of Selection Sunday, sharpening our analysis and adjusting our power ratings for the 68 teams in the women’s tournament.
After Selection Sunday, we continue to examine factors like team injury histories and recent form, especially for the top contenders you might consider as NCAA champions and Final Four picks.
Based on our final adjusted ratings, we then create our bracket simulations and Round Survival Odds.
We will also collect public pick data by Monday and Tuesday, which will be used to find value plays and potential contrarian picks in certain situations.
(To see the results of all our team research, don’t miss our Teams page, which will be live Sunday night, a few hours after the Selection Show.)
2) Explain the reasoning behind key picks you may see in customized brackets for your pool(s)
You will be able to see our team ratings, Data Grid, and Round Odds shortly after the official brackets are announced.
We will continue to check any market information and look for news on a few key players. We will also run our bracket simulations on Monday night and Tuesday morning.
You will be able to see your customized brackets on Tuesday, and in this writeup, will explain some of the key strategies driving the picks.
We plan to have only one bracket release on Tuesday, but if there is some major news regarding one of the top contenders, we could revisit that, and we would post any changes within this article as well.

2. Early Reactions to the 2025 Bracket
UCLA got the No. 1 overall seed over South Carolina, which is justifiable based on results (UCLA beat the Gamecocks early in the season), but there is a pretty big gap in power ratings between South Carolina, Connecticut, and UCLA.
