Splash Survivor World Championship: Week 3 Picks and Analysis

The Splash Survivor World Championship has seen two wild weeks, and now we look toward a popular Chiefs team against Miami.

KANSAS CITY, MO - SEPTEMBER 20: Bryce Boettcher #50 of the Indianapolis Colts tackles Travis Kelce #87 of the Kansas City Chiefs after a catch in overtime of an NFL game between the Indianapolis Colts and Kansas City Chiefs on Sep 20, 2026 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, MO. Travis Kelce will try not to leave with a blank space on your future survivor picks.

Week 2 was one of chaos. After a relatively tame Week 1 that saw the Chargers lose but not much else, Week 2 saw a slew of favorites go down, eliminating 7,704 out of 15,657 remaining entries — just shy of 50%.

The Bucs did the majority of the damage with their faceplant against the Browns, but other favorites to go down included the Chargers and Ravens. A last-minute touchdown by the Eagles saved even more carnage, as they escaped against the Titans, much to the relief of 8% of the field.

At PoolGenius, we have created a Splash Survivor World Championship Picks product and tools built specifically for the contest’s unique double-pick format, which includes six weeks where contestants must pick two winners instead of one. This article serves as your Week 3 guide, with breakdowns of the teams drawing the most picks, links to YouTube strategy videos, and strategy discussion for Week 3 picks.

Splash Survivor World Championship Final Contest Size and Projected Winners

The big eliminations from last week mean the field is down to 7,953, or about 38% of the starting entries.

PoolGenius now projects fewer than 1% of the field to make it to the end second double-pick week, Week 12. The early thinning of the field increases the chances that the contest could finish before the end of the season.

You can see the full projections in the week-to-week summary of the popularity projections tool.

Right now, the final number is Week 18 and two contestants remaining, but that could fluctuate quite a bit. Only 50 are expected to be alive at the end of Week 13, and by the end of Week 15 we are projecting single-digit entries remaining, at which point anything is possible.

Kansas City projects as very popular, the question is just how much.

So far, through two weeks, we have seen the chalkiest picks come in at a relatively lower rate in the Splash World Championship compared to Circa.

However, this has largely been a function of the portfolio sizes. Just as in Circa, we saw in Week 2 that single entry players broke heavily for Tampa Bay. They were over 50% in both contests. We also saw that the 10-entry players were light Tampa Bay and heavy San Francisco. That was also true in Splash, it’s just that the large portfolios make up a much bigger percentage of the overall field, and really drive the numbers right now.

The thing about this week is … it feels like a week that the larger portfolios still like Kansas City (good EV, still at high ownership, future value tradeoffs aren’t that big compared to most other favorites this week). And also, the single-entry picks will break for Kansas City, as they react to what happened last week.

Mo Nuwwarah’s Pick Thoughts on Week 3: From Chalk to Contrarian

Mo Nuwwarah contributes to both the weekly article and the weekly YouTube show (posted below).

Here are some thoughts from Mo for Week 3.

On the Week 3 Chalk

The Kansas City Chiefs lead the way this week as they draw what appears to be the top punching bag of the 2026 survivor campaign, the Dolphins. Not only did Patrick Mahomes look to be 100% back last week, but the Dolphins also produced one of the most feeble performances of the year, allowing the 49ers to do whatever they wanted on offense. The Chiefs’ schedule is rather front-loaded, with lots of winnable games through Week 11. As far as double-pick weeks go, they only project to be useful in Week 9 (vs. Jets), so this is an obvious smash spot for them.

Really, Kansas City is in its own category, but the next two are also projected for over 10%.

The Green Bay Packers (Thursday Night) get a Falcons team that is 0-2 and just got crushed at home by the Panthers. However, they project to be a bit tougher of an out going forward, as it sounds like Michael Penix will return to provide at least NFL-level quarterback play. The Packers have a game against the Dolphins in Week 15 during double picks. But much like the Steelers in Week 1, they match up well here against a Falcons team that probably can’t exploit their pass protection.

The Detroit Lions round out the team projected above 10%, but a matchup with the Jets is less appealing than it looked like in the preseason, as the Jets appear to be a reasonably solid outfit for once. More appetizing spots are coming up, including at Arizona in Week 5 and at Miami in Week 9, the first week of double picks.

On the Teams Below the Top Three

The Seattle Seahawks have a road game with Washington that became more appealing when Jayden Daniels sustained an elbow injury that will surely keep Marcus Mariota in the lineup. They have also risen to our third-best win probability of the week, as the news on Sam Darnold playing has been more promising. That will be something to monitor through the weekend. On the other hand, they hold the second-most future value, including a home game against the same Cardinals team they just thrashed, and during the first double-pick week, to boot.

The Philadelphia Eagles are another team that stumbled into a viable survivor spot thanks to not only one, but potentially two, quarterback injuries. The Bears presumably lost Caleb Williams for the week, although that’s still TBD, and backup Tyson Bagent has entered concussion protocol. Third-stringer Case Keenum was once a solid backup and even a competent starter, but he’s thrown fewer than 150 passes since 2019. Philly isn’t looking as strong as its preseason rating, but a Week 9 home date with the Giants during double picks looms larger on the survivor radar if Jaxson Dart is indeed done for the year.

Sneaky Contrarian Survivor Picks for Week 3

Last week in this space, I highlighted the Carolina Panthers as an under-the-radar play, and they rewarded contrarian survivor pickers’ faith by winning easily in a week where a ton of chalk went down. Well, they don’t project to have any further viability in survivor after this road date with Cleveland until Week 18 (vs. Falcons). Trusting the Panthers on the road hasn’t been wise in recent years, but the offense is cooking so far, and the market likes them enough to make them close to field goal favorites.

Speaking of trusting the market, it’s confident enough in the Dart-less New York Giants to keep them at 2.5-point favorites as well, at home against the Titans. That line will surely shock some people after the putrid performance that Jameis Winston put on tape on Monday night. Using the Giants will basically be unthinkable aside from this spot. Anyone making this pick has more heart than me, but it’s available if you want it.
