After a busy two-week stretch of the Arnold Palmer Invitational and THE PLAYERS Championship, we stay in Florida but get a break from the bigger purse events. The Valspar Championship at the Copperhead Resort in Palm Harbor, Florida still has a pretty solid field of golfers choosing to finish out the Sunshine State swing of events.
In total, we have eight golfers inside our Top 25 competing, but you will want to balance saving future value for your Valspar Championship One and Done picks this week.
Valspar Championship One and Done Picks: Purse Info
The Valspar Championship has a total prize purse of $9,100,000. The winner receives $1,566,000.
The purse size puts it in the lower half of non-Signature events (Tier 3 event by prize money). It’s actually slightly lower than the Cognizant from three weeks ago, but because of its placement on the schedule (not sandwiched by Signature Events), it’s a better field.
For instance, Golfers playing here may instead choose to skip the Houston Open next week.

Here are a few notable highlights for the 2026 Valspar Championship field:
- 133 golfers in the field, with a cut. We have a slightly larger field here than in the recent Cognizant Classic.
- Viktor Hovland, defending champion: Hovland ended a slump here a year ago, beating out Justin Thomas.
- The top 9 finishers here last year are playing: Players who are returning here also played well a year ago. Jacob Bridgeman had a third-place finish, Corey Conners had a Top 10, and Xander Schauffele finished just outside the Top 10.
