The Masters: Golf One and Done Picks Strategy
A few other events — like the recent Players Championship or player-hosted Signature Events such as the Arnold Palmer Invitational — may offer a bigger first-place prize. However, the Masters is still one of the largest purses.
It’s also one of the most valuable for One and Done strategy. Why? The field is stacked, which means there are more viable picks — and that opens the door for serious separation in your pool if your selection wins.
The bottom line is that you will want to use one of the top 10 players this week, so make it count.

The Masters: Overview For One and Done Pools
This analysis serves as a complement to the data in our product, which provides customized weekly pick grades considering factors like:
- The total number of picks you need to make this season
- The specific tournaments included in your pool
- The golfers you’ve picked so far (once the season is underway)
Here are some notable highlights for the 2025 Masters and what it means for your One and Done pools:
- 96 golfers are in the field. Of those, the top 50 and ties will make the cut.
- LIV vs. PGA Tour: We get our first look at the LIV players joining the PGA players this year. Last year’s top five finishers were all PGA players, while Bryson DeChambeau, Cam Smith, Tyrell Hatton, and Patrick Reed from LIV all finished in the top 12.
- Scheffler, Rahm, and Matsuyama are most recent champions: Scottie Scheffler has won twice in three years, while Jon Rahm will look to bounce back from last year’s poor performance after winning in 2023. Hideki Matsuyama (2021 winner) is the only other champion inside the top 20 in win odds this year.
- Every Top 30 Golfer in our ranks is playing: Our highest-ranked golfer not playing is No. 34 (Si Woo Kim), and 45 of our top 50 are also in action.
