RBC Heritage: Golf One and Done Picks Strategy (2025)

We turn to the RBC Heritage for One and Done picks this week, highlighting some top options at Harbour Town Golf Links.

Patrick Cantlay (USA) watches his tee shot on 1 during the third round of the Valero Texas Open at TPC San Antonio AT&T Oaks Course April 5, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas.

The RBC Heritage immediately follows the Masters on the golf calendar, which can lead to less attention in the immediate aftermath of golf’s biggest event. However, it is still a valuable tournament for One and Done pools. It is one of the PGA Tour Signature Events with no cut, and the winner will take home $3.6 million.

Rory McIlroy is taking the week off following his Masters triumph, but the other top PGA Tour golfers will make the short journey to Hilton Head, South Carolina.

RBC Heritage: Golf One and Done Picks Strategy

When looking at upcoming events, the RBC Heritage ranks only behind the U.S. Open and The Memorial in terms of purse (when comparing last year’s value). The other two majors (PGA Championship and The Open) may raise their purse amounts. Still, the RBC Heritage will rank on par with other remaining Signature Events and the FedEx Playoff events in importance.

You are justified in using a highly ranked golfer, though you may also want to consider mixing in a guy ranked in the 10-20 range if the odds/popularity combination is attractive.

RBC Heritage: Overview for One and Done Pools

This analysis serves as a complement to the data in our product, which provides customized weekly pick grades considering factors like:

  • The total number of picks you need to make this season
  • The specific tournaments included in your pool
  • The golfers you’ve picked so far (once the season is underway)

Here are some notable highlights for the 2025 RBC Heritage and what it means for your One and Done pools:

  • 72 golfers are in the field. There is no cut this week, so everyone will qualify for the weekend and earn something.
  • McIlroy is taking the week off. Rory McIlroy was already not in the RBC Heritage field, which was initially released last Friday. The new Masters champion is the only Top 20 golfer in our rankings who is eligible but not playing this week.
  • Scottie Scheffler is the defending champion. He followed up his win at Augusta last year by winning the RBC Heritage. He’s back in 2025, hoping to get his first victory of the 2025 season.
  • Patrick Cantlay has a strong track record at Harbour Town. Patrick Cantlay could be a popular pick this week in One and Done pools, as he has finished 2nd, 3rd, and 3rd in the last three years at Harbour Town Golf Links.
  • It will probably take a low score to win. The RBC Heritage received elevated Signature Event status two years ago, and over the last two tournaments here, the winning scores have been -17 and -19. Golfers had to shoot -12 or better to get inside the Top 10 both years.
