One of the biggest One and Done events is here, with The Memorial, and we go through odds, popularity, and other considerations for this week.

Scottie Scheffler is going for three straight at Jack's Course and The Memorial.
The PGA Tour heads to Dublin, Ohio for the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday at Muirfield Village Golf Club — one of the most prestigious invitationals on Tour and a course that demands precision, patience, and elite iron play. This is the second-most valuable remaining event on the calendar outside of the U.S. Open, and with Scottie Scheffler going for a third consecutive Memorial title, there is no shortage of storylines heading into the week.
Here’s what you need to know for your Golf One and Done picks this week.
Memorial Tournament One and Done Picks: Purse Info
The Memorial Tournament carries a $20,000,000 purse, with $4,000,000 going to the winner. That matches the other Signature Events on the PGA Tour calendar and represents one of the highest first-place prizes remaining in the season. Only the U.S. Open rivals it for importance on the remaining schedule.

Memorial Tournament Overview for One and Done Pools
This analysis is a complement to the data in our product, which provides customized weekly pick grades that account for factors like:
- The total number of picks you need to make this season.
- The specific tournaments included in your pool.
- The golfers you’ve already used so far.
Here are a few notable highlights for the 2026 Memorial Tournament field:
- 72 players, with a cut at top 50 and ties. Unlike most other Signature Events, the Memorial does make a cut, similar to the Masters. That adds a layer of strategy — you want a golfer who not only contends but survives the weekend.
- Scheffler goes for three in a row. Scottie Scheffler won the Memorial in 2024 (-8, by one shot) and 2025 (-10, by four shots), making him the two-time defending champion at one of the most demanding venues on Tour. No one has won here three consecutive times in the modern era.
- A course transformed since 2020. Following the 2020 Memorial, Muirfield Village underwent an extensive renovation — adding 100 yards of length to reach 7,571 yards, reconstructing all 18 greens with new bentgrass, redesigning bunkers, and rebuilding tee boxes. Winning scores prior to the renovation regularly reached -15 to -19. Since the renovation, the range has been -7 to -13. Course history from 2021 onward is significantly more relevant than earlier results.
- What the course demands. Muirfield Village features thick, penalizing rough, fast and firm Bentgrass greens, water in play on 13 holes, and 68 bunkers. Ball-striking, driving accuracy, and elite iron play are the keys — errant shots are punished severely. The closing stretch, particularly the par-5 15th and par-3 16th over water, often determines the champion.
- Save logic does not apply this week. With the Memorial carrying the same purse as other Signature Events and sitting as the second-most valuable event remaining, most pool players should treat this as a top-tier deployment week. Entries that have been saving top golfers for the right moment have arrived at it, and the primary factors should be a combination of using your best options and considering your place in the standings, and whether you need to move off that for lower popularity.
- Recent winners: The last five winners are in the field: Scheffler (2025, 2024), Viktor Hovland (2023), Billy Horschel (2022), and Patrick Cantlay (2021 and 2019). [UPDATE: Hovland, along with Jake Knapp, have withdrawn.]
