Jason Day will look for another title at the Farmers Insurance Open
Here we go with our Farmers Insurance Open Golf One and Done Picks this week.
The West Coast swing continues to La Jolla, California, for the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines. In One and Done pools, we are coming off another dominant Scottie Scheffler performance last week, but he will not be playing this time, and the field is more wide open.
The Farmers Insurance Open is played on both the North and South Courses at Torrey Pines, with golfers alternating between the two for the first two rounds. Then, the final rounds after the cut are played at the tougher South Course.
Harris English won here a year ago, and we should also note that Ludvig Aberg won the Genesis Invitational at the South Course a year ago.

Farmers Insurance One and Done Picks Strategy: Purse Info
The Farmers Insurance Open has a total prize purse of $9,600,000, with $1,674,000 going to first place.
This is a second-tier purse week, and there are still plenty of bigger leverage spots ahead:
- 15 picks remaining in tournaments in a higher purse tier
- 6 picks remaining in tournaments with a higher first prize, but in the same purse tier
So yet again, we want to balance how we pick golfers, considering both win odds and how strongly we want a golfer available for higher-purse events in the future.
If you want to see where this tournament’s purse ranks in your specific PGA One and Done pool, you can set up your pool entry in our Golf One and Done Picks product.

Farmers Insurance Open Overview for One and Done Pools
This analysis is a complement to the data in our product, which provides customized weekly pick grades that account for factors like:
- The total number of picks you need to make this season
- The specific tournaments included in your pool
- The golfers you’ve already used so far
Here are a few notable highlights for the 2026 Farmers Insurance field:
- 145 golfers are in the field. The Farmers Insurance Open will be played across two courses on Thursday and Friday, with the final two rounds at the South Course. The top 65 and ties advance to the final two rounds.
- Xander Schauffele, Cameron Young, and Brooks Koepka make their season debut. U.S. Ryder Cup teammates Xander Schauffele and Cameron Young will play in their first event of 2026. The same is true for Brooks Koepka, allowed back onto the PGA Tour after leaving LIV.
- Previous winners in the field, but longshots. Harris English finished in first place last year. The other winners from the last four years (Mathieu Pavon, Max Homa, and Luke List) are also playing, though none of them are inside the Top 15 in odds to win. Jason Day (2015 and 2018 champion) has the best odds of past champions.
