How The PoolGenius Survivor Bowl Works
PoolGenius Survivor Bowl 1 is a season-long NFL survivor contest, but instead of your office buddies or random online entrants, the contestants are some of the most recognizable voices in football media and sports gaming.
Contrary to what some people think, NFL survivor contests aren’t just about picking winners. Unless contestants simply want to rely on dumb luck (a highly questionable approach), they will need to apply strategy and formulate the best plan to outwit and outlast some of the sharpest minds in football.
Each week, participants will need to balance short-term safety against long-term survival, knowing that one wrong pick will eliminate their entry.
Here are the details:
- Start Date: Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season, running through Week 18 (or until no entries remain).
-
Entries: Each participant starts with 3 entries.
-
Weekly Picks: Pick one NFL team per entry, each week.
- Deadline: Picks are due by Saturday at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT), or before kickoff if a game starts earlier.
-
Elimination: If an entry’s pick loses or ties, that entry is eliminated.
-
Restrictions: Per typical NFL survivor contest rules, each NFL team can only be picked once per season.
-
Winner: Last entry standing wins $10,000, plus $5,000 donated to the charity of their choice.
- Multiple Winners: If multiple entries survive through Week 18 or are eliminated in the same week, co-winners will be declared, and the prize pool will be split.
