Circa Survivor 2025 Surging, Could Hit Record $20M Prize Pool

Circa Survivor 2025 is off to a blazing start, with entries up 44% year-over-year and a $20 million prize pool within reach.

The world’s biggest NFL survivor contest is off to a scorching start, with Circa Survivor 2025 tracking well ahead of last year’s record-breaking pace.

As of Wednesday, July 30, Circa Survivor had logged 3,559 entries, a sharp 42% increase compared to the same point in 2024. The momentum represents a notable acceleration from earlier growth rates, signaling that interest in high-stakes NFL survivor contests continues to explode.

On July 9, Circa Sports VP of Operations, Mike Palm, noted that NFL survivor entries were up 23% year-over-year. That growth rate has nearly doubled in less than a month, suggesting the contest is hitting its stride as the NFL season approaches.

Circa Survivor: $20 Million Prize Pool Now in Play

The explosive early pace has Palm revising his projections upward. According to VSiN, the Circa executive is now predicting the overall prize pool will finish “north of $20 million”—a sizable jump from this year’s $15 million guarantee.

If Palm’s prediction proves accurate, Circa Survivor would need over 20,000 entries to reach that threshold. That would represent at least a 40.2% increase from last year’s final record-breaking 14,266 entries.

Prime Sign-Up Windows Still Ahead

The strong early momentum becomes even more significant when considering that Circa Survivor’s biggest registration periods have yet to arrive.

Two crucial sign-up windows loom on the calendar:

  • Circa Ultimate Contest Weekend (August 21-23): This annual event brings thousands of entrants to Las Vegas specifically for football contest registration. The concentrated three-day period traditionally generates massive entry spikes across all Circa contests.
  • Labor Day Weekend: The final major holiday weekend before the NFL season consistently delivers a surge of entries as people make their last-minute Vegas trips before football begins.

These two periods alone could determine whether Circa Survivor reaches Palm’s ambitious $20 million projection. If the current 44% growth rate holds through these peak registration windows, the contest could easily surpass all previous records.

Circa Grandissimo Approaching Critical Mass

The ultra-premium Circa Grandissimo NFL Survivor Contest, which has a $100,000 entry fee, is also performing above expectations.

Palm revealed that the high-stakes contest will have “11 entrants by Friday,” putting Grandissimo on pace to exceed early projections. On July 9, Palm had set the over/under at 30.5 total entries for Grandissimo—a number that now looks increasingly conservative.

With 11 entries already confirmed and the biggest sign-up month still ahead, Grandissimo appears likely to hit the 15-entry minimum needed to cover Circa’s $1.5 million guarantee. More importantly, the contest could realistically double that number and approach Palm’s original projection of 30 entries, creating a winner-take-all prize pool of $3 million.

We spoke with Ian Ritchie, the first player to commit $100,000 to the contest (with his Icon Racing partners), and he predicted this trajectory early on. Even back in late June, Ritchie told us he was confident the contest would draw 15+ entries, saying he had been “very bullish on the numbers since the contest announcement.”

His confidence appears well-founded as Grandissimo creeps near the 15-entry benchmark with August still ahead.

Why the Growth Matters

The surge in Circa Survivor entries is part of a broader shift toward skill-based, player-vs-player contests, but with a much simpler format than fantasy football. You don’t need to manage a roster or track player stats every week. Pick one NFL team to win each week (no spreads, no points) and don’t pick the same team twice. That simplicity, paired with real strategy and no house edge, fuels the rise of survivor pools.

Because the contest is rake-free, 100% of the entry fees go back to the prize pool, creating built-in +EV potential for those who plan well. And let’s be honest: not everyone will. Some entries will forget to submit picks. Others will make emotional decisions or fail to think ahead. That’s where your edge comes in.
