The Circa Survivor contest has gone from 900 two weeks ago to only 10 entries remaining in the hunt for the $18.72 million prize, with five pick weeks still left.
To say that things have gone wild is an understatement.
Last week started with 45 entries. Of those, 28 (62%) picked Tampa Bay, and another 5 (11%) picked Cleveland. Those were the two most popular picks, and when both lost, the pool was decimated once again. Add in single losses due to Baltimore and Philadelphia, and the average implied value of the 10 remaining entries is $1,871,800.
All the way back in Week 1, I set an initial Over/Under of 9.5 winners. Well, we are almost Under that number now, and the current answer is that pretty much anything is possible.
We could end the contest early with a solo winner, split the pot when all remaining entries lose in the same week, or have more than one make it to the end. The only thing that seems fairly certain is that all 10 will not make it.
In the Christmas pick week, none have Detroit or Denver available, and only one has Kansas City. Of the others, five have Dallas available, while four only have Washington and Minnesota (both projected as home underdogs) available to pick. That means we are likely to get some Dallas vs. Washington head-to-head battles in this contest.

- Philadelphia – 9
- Houston – 3
- Chicago – 1
